Hunting for Meaning: Part 3 – The Calling of a Guide
You’ve found the trail, geared up with the Word, and learned to walk in step with the Creator. But a real woodsman knows the harvest was never meant for one man to hoard.
Out in the deep brush, there are men wandering blind in the dark—bruised by life, running on empty, and tracking prey that will never satisfy their souls.
You used to be one of them. Now, God is calling you to step up, take the lead, and become a trail guide for the lost.
"And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men." — Mark 1:17
Reading the Sign: Know Who You’re Tracking
To lead a man out of the thicket, you have to know where he got turned around. Most guys who refuse to step foot in a church aren't running from God—they're running from fake religion, past hurt, or pride.
* The Wounded: Men who got burned by religious hypocrites. They don't need a lecture; they need to see authentic, iron-clad grace.
* The Self-Reliant: Guys who take pride in needing nobody. They need to realize that self-sufficiency is a lethal illusion when it comes to eternity.
* The Wandering: Men who feel God in the woods but end up worshiping the creation instead of the Creator.
Setting the Camp: Strategy in the Field
You don't need a pulpit to preach the Gospel. Real ground is gained in the truck on a long haul to the lease, sitting in the blind before dawn, or sharing stories around the tailgate after the hunt.
* Build the Campfire (Earn the Right): Put in the time. Build genuine brotherhood first. Earn the authority to speak into a man's life by standing shoulder-to-shoulder with him.
* Share Your Scars (Your Testimony): You don't need a theology degree. Tell him straight: where you were, how Christ tracked you down, and how He changed your life.
* Point to the Master Craftsman: Use the raw power, design, and brutal beauty of the wilderness to point straight to the God who built it.
"For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made..." — Romans 1:20
Leaving a Legacy: Raise Up the Next Generation
A real man leaves the trail better than he found it. Your mission isn't just about today’s hunt—it's about forging the next generation of men to stand firm when culture collapses.
* Pass Down the Craft: Don't just teach young men how to shoot and track; build them into men of integrity, faith, and unshakeable resolve.
* Stand as the Watchman: Guard your family and your brotherhood from the traps of the enemy. Be a man of action, not a passive bystander.
"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also." — 2 Timothy 2:2
THE CHALLENGE: STEP INTO THE FIELD
The harvest is plentiful, but the trail hands are few. God didn't save you to sit in the lodge—He called you into the field.
* Lock in Your Target: Name one man in your hunting circle, at your shop, or in your family who needs Christ.
* Pray for the Breach: Ask God for the grit and timing to speak truth into his life this week.
* Gear Up: Reach out to our onboard chaplain Brad, to get geared up with field outreach tools, brotherhood connections, and mentor training.
